The Story of Joe's Italian (opens in a new tab)
The founding story: Giuseppe “Joe” Bertolone and his wife Elvira — Mamma — ran a Joe’s Italian in California before moving to Alabama in 2007 to be near their daughters, and opened the Weatherly restaurant in 2009 on Sicilian and southern Italian family recipes. Mamma’s strawberry cake and the Lasagna Bianca both get their due.
